Britt Gets Fit: Check-In 06
You know how you start toward a goal and 6 weeks seems sooo far away, like, there is no possible way that 6 weeks will even be a real thing? And isn't it funny how we've forgotten all our resolutions by the time the Super Bowl rolls around?
Sunday was just a regular Sunday for me. I actually...forgot. about. the Super Bowl. BUT—I did use my crock pot. I'm awesome.
Anyways, we're almost mid-way through February and 6 weeks have come and gone for my personal health challenge and I know you're like POST SOME BEFORE & AFTER PHOTOS ALREADY. Patience, dear ones. We still got some work to do.
Let's break it down:
- 1 Full Body Kettlebell Workout
- 1 15-min. HIIT Workout
- Yoga 3x
- 2 Ab Circuits
- And 1 40-minute Cardio Dance Workout
My sweet, hilarious, honest, and terribly fun cousin, Chelsea, came to visit this weekend. She's on her own lifestyle journey and just became a coach for Beachbody. We've bonded over everything from crushes to college to careers to marriage over the last 31 years and this weekend it was so fun to chat about how we're getting healthy together. Also fun? Working out together. To a dance DVD. Yes, my friends, Chelsea, my sister, Lauren, and I can now dance our faces off to a B-rated version of Bruno Mars' "Treasure." Pure calorie burning fun.
So, Thursday was ugly. Need to not let lady time manage eating time. No more eating cheese samples at Whole Foods with no intention to purchase cheese.
I mean, it's been worse in terms of what I actually ate, but the lack of control is the trouble, here. As well as the idea that food might cure an emotional instability. Next month I'm channelling all that energy and getting a massage. From my husband. Cause those things are expensive.
The rest of the week was pretty solid. I was really into the chopped salad, and acai was on sale again! Matty and I have some version of a pizza practically every week and this one was a hit, even if it was a little cheese heavy. Another hit? These naturally sweetened cookies. One day I rolled out the entire ball of dough (without chocolate chips) and baked it like a pizza crust. We cut it in slices and topped it with jam or raw honey. Matty also topped his with bacon, eggs, and BBQ pork...if you're adventurous.
I'm actually having trouble coming up with a win. It wasn't a bad week, but it wasn't incredibly productive toward my goal. I feel like I need to step it up, but so many other things have demanded my attention recently and I'm having trouble prioritizing. Wasn't I just talking about being kind to yourself? Need to take my own advice.
But here's a win: After a rough Thursday, I wanted to make Friday count. I didn't have any sweets, besides a teaspoon of honey. I did have 2.5 bananas but I'm sure it really fueled my dance workout :)
Motivation: Averaging out at 5.6...no wonder!
Mood: Happy most days, with one "meh" for Thursday
Energy: Still high!
We leave for Australia in 3 weeks, so only a few check-ins left! It will be a "g'day" indeed. (Please don't tell my husband I did that.)
