You, In Five Words
Here's a fun question: how would you describe yourself in five words?
There are times when I have blogging ideas coming out the wazoo and then there are times when my head feels like an empty balloon. Could be that I need to get out more and put a pause on the Gilmore Girls marathoning but somehow I feel like the Gilmore Girls marathoning is an important part of my life. Similar to the great Felicity marathon of 2007. So crucial!!
Anyway, this idea didn't come from me and my balloon head. It came from Joanna at Cup of Jo, who got the idea from Nora Ephron from freakin' Nora Ephron (writer of works of art such as "You've Got Mail" & "When Harry Met Sally"). She says:
“We have a game we play when we’re waiting for tables in restaurants, where you have to write the five things that describe yourself on a piece of paper. When I was [in my twenties], I would have put: ambitious, Wellesley graduate, daughter, Democrat, single. Ten years later not one of those five things turned up on my list. I was: journalist, feminist, New Yorker, divorced, funny. Today not one of those five things turns up in my list: writer, director, mother, sister, happy.” - N.E.
If I can remember come January 1, I think I'd like to keep a list every year and watch how it changes. A personal inventory, so to speak. For today, I'd be Wife, Waiting, Joyful, Learner, and Maker.
How about you?
